Friend 2.0 might be the weirdest AI product launch I’ve seen all year 😭

The AI necklace can now talk back to you, and somehow the ad they made for it raises even more questions than the product itself.

The founder has described Friend as a kind of “confidant, friend, God,” says the first 5,000 devices sold out, and now wants to sell 50,000 of these.

And there are clearly people who genuinely want this. One commenter on X even said AI makes a better counselor than therapy.

So… am I being old-fashioned, or is this where we’re actually headed?

I vibe coded a full game sequel using Claude Code and Codex, and it proved something important about AI and game development.

A year ago I built The Librarian, a playable vibe coded game you can still find on GitHub. This time I wanted to see how far AI coding tools have come, and whether one person could build something that actually feels like a real game.

I used Claude Code with Opus 5 for the initial build, then switched to Codex and GPT-5.6 Sol for all the fine-tuning. The result is The Librarian 2, a 3D procedurally generated roguelite with boss enemies, natural disasters, meta progression, and a chaos system. 10,400 lines of code across 33 modules. Zero asset files.

The verdict: game development is far from cooked. But it's also a lot harder than the one-level demos on X make it look.

Here's how to access the secret AI model everyone is trying to get their hands on 👀

Kimi K3 is apparently so powerful that they had to pause new subscriptions because of the massive surge in demand. But you don’t have to sit on the waitlist with everyone else.

Here's a backdoor workaround to access the single-agent version of Kimi K3 right now:

1️⃣ Go to platform.kimi.ai (their developer platform) and create an account.
2️⃣ Head to the billing section and add a small credit (even $1 works).
3️⃣ Open the AI Playground and select "Kimi K3" from the model selector.
4️⃣ Adjust your settings: Crank the context window up toward the 1-million-token limit and increase the reasoning effort.
5️⃣ Start prompting directly in the Playground like a regular chatbot.

That's it. You're now using one of the most capable models available while everyone else is stuck in line.
